Manchester United's squad has been refreshed in the hot summer months, and in addition to cleaning out midfield general Anthony Mafios, the team's defensive heartthrob, Warani, is on the verge of leaving the club. The 31-year-old French center-back is rumored to be returning empty-handed this summer, while Saudi Arabia's powerhouse Aynas has thrown an olive branch at him, offering a fat annual salary of up to 50 million pounds (about HK$490 million) in a bid to join the team.

Recall that in the summer of 2021, Warani moved from Real Madrid to Manchester United when he signed a 3+1 year deal. In order to fully commit to United, he announced his retirement from the French national team after the World Cup in Qatar. However, injuries hit him and he made just 93 appearances last season, scoring two goals and collecting an EFL Cup. According to the Mirror, United are set to bring in a new center-back this summer, and naturally, Walani's contract extension clause won't kick in, and he's set to leave the club as a free agent.

Meanwhile, Saudi media outlet skyalsaudia broke the news that Aynas are salivating over Warani and have offered him the lure of a £50 million-a-year salary to defect to Saudi Arabia. It is reported that Wahrani is currently valued at around €25 million in the transfer market. Despite rumors that Real Madrid were interested in recalling him, they did not end up acting on it.

If Wahrani joins Ainas, he will be playing alongside Crowe in a third team after Real Madrid and Manchester United.Crowe's annual salary at Ainas is as high as 200 million euros, while Wahrani's is only a quarter of Crowe's. But if Wahrani chooses to retire, it may be a good idea for him to do so. But if Wahrani chooses to retire, Ainas may be a good choice.
