In last week's double-red match, Manchester United and Liverpool fought to a 2-2 draw, with 19-year-old Congolese starlet Ghanwala being tasked with partnering Harry Maguanyi in a close game. United are said to be actively discussing a contract extension with Ghanwala.

Ghanwala trained in soccer in France from a young age and joined the Manchester United youth camp in 2020. He made his Premier League debut at the end of last year, helping Westham claim the final spot at the end of the season. So far, the Red Devils have made eight appearances.

The arrival of Manu has injected new energy into United's defense this season, and wing forward Alejandro Canazo is also regarded as the team's future star. The 1.92-meter tall Ghanwala, as the newest member of the defense, made his debut in the double red match and did not lose against Liverpool, laying a solid foundation for the youngster's growth.

It has been revealed that Ghanwala is currently earning just £1,400 (about HK$13,800) a month and his contract is set to expire in 2025. United are interested in extending the contract and plan to increase Ganwala's weekly wage to at least £10,000.
