The wave of Manchester United's soccer reform has reached the core of power, the former director of soccer at the helm of 11 years of Meto on Tuesday (9) officially announced the departure. The British media have speculated that Meto's departure seems to make the situation of United's new manager Tannhäuser more and more precarious.
Since stepping into Manchester United's shoes in 2013, Metto has worked his way up from Director of Football Development to Director, however, in those 11 long years, United's fortunes have been in the doldrums. Since Ratcliffe took charge of United, rumors of Meto's imminent departure have been rife. However, on Tuesday, United officially announced Metto's official farewell, with speculation that he may be looking for a new career direction. United vice-chairman Zurgrasha said, "After 11 years of working hand in hand, we believe it is now time to implement a new management structure, and Meto will always be a friend of Manchester United."
Along with former CEO Richard Arnott, Meto flew to Amsterdam two years ago to interview Tannhäuser and ultimately decided to bring him on board. Over the past two years, Metto has repeatedly supported Tannhäuser in public. According to The Sun, with the departure of Richard Arnott and Metto, Tannhäuser seems to have lost the most important supporting force in the team and the prospect of next season is not optimistic.
