On Sunday 31st, a marquee match took place in the Premier League, with Liverpool earning their first win of the new season with a 2-1 victory at home. Luis Diaz and Mohamed Sana played key roles in the match. Their opponents, the "Seagulls" Brighton, who have the most number of comebacks in the league this season, were unable to make up the score despite grabbing 26 points.

It is worth noting that Liverpool's star player Andrew Robathan was absent due to injury, with Zukomis filling in at left wing. And the attacking combination of Mohamed Shana, Davin Nunes and Luis Diaz came close to opening the scoring in the early stages of the game. However, the deadlock was broken only two minutes into the game when the Bailiton side scored with a long range shot from Verbeek. After that, Sanaa missed a number of chances and Liverpool came close to equalizing from a corner in the 27th minute, but Brighton's Zul Wetwin had an accidental "assist" from a clearance, allowing Luis Diaz to equalize with a brilliant fast break.

The change of possession saw Liverpool continue to keep up their attack. The onslaught of Alex McAleese and Shana, as well as the long range shots of Suboslal, were tiring out the Brixton defense. Finally, in the 65th minute, McAleese's goal gave Liverpool a 2-1 lead. Although Diaz then scored with a quick shot, an offside call nullified the goal. Late in the game, a close-range shot by Sana was parried away by the opposing goalkeeper to give Liverpool a thrilling 2-1 win.
