Manchester United winger Amit Diarou seems to have been forgotten by coach Tannhäuser this season. The 21-year-old Ivory Coast international recently made subtle changes on social media, changing his shirt photo, removing United-related details from his profile and leaving a message in French: "Everything is coming to an end." This seems to signal that the player may be bidding farewell to the Red Devils this summer.
Back in January 2021, Amit Diarou moved to Manchester United for a whopping €40 million (about HK$340 million) but was never able to show his full potential. He was loaned out to powerhouses such as Glasgow and Trampol, and showed his mettle by contributing 14 goals in 42 games last season. However, after returning to United at the start of the season, he still hasn't been able to get many appearances.
Despite getting three starts, Amit Diaru was once again on the bench against Ewarton. Rumors about his relationship with United continued to swirl on social media after the game, and he even went as far as to publicly express his displeasure with Coach Tannhäuser and temporarily shut down his social media accounts for the duration of Ramadan.
Amit Diarou only has one year left on his current deal and in order to avoid possible losses in the future, United may be tempted to sell him early this summer, which would be a relief for both parties.
