Spotlight: Liverpool and Manchester City shook hands at home in a 1-1 draw in a match that was billed as the "Battle of the Mountain of Heaven" and had the entire soccer world waiting with bated breath. Despite Liverpool's overall dominance, they failed to win, especially in the controversial extra time. Manchester City winger Shelly Medgu attacked a Liverpool player in the penalty area, the referee and VAR did not make a penalty, which made Liverpool team leader Gopo emotional after the game, using the ball to prove the referee's wrong judgment.

Eight minutes into the match, another "take-off" by Shelly Medjugorje in the penalty area caught everyone's eye, but Olivier did not award a penalty, and the VAR upheld Olivier's decision. Gopu went to Olivier in anger after the match, but did not seem to get a satisfactory answer, and his anger was still unquenched in the post-match interview.

Gop was blunt in his interview: that goal was definitely a 100% penalty and Dugu deserved a yellow card! The only reason he was able to kick the ball was because he had his foot up too high, and if the ball wasn't there, he probably would have kicked McAleese dead. Everyone in the world who knows anything about soccer will say that goal was a penalty and anyone who thinks it wasn't doesn't know anything about soccer. I'm not mad because I'm glad the team played well.

Kennedy disagreed with Sky Sports' comments: Gopo thought Dugu's foot was lifted too high, but Dugu didn't step down hard so I don't think the referee got it wrong. Galecha, on the other hand, said: If Olivier had blown the penalty, VAR wouldn't have overturned it, and likewise, if Olivier had blown the penalty, VAR would have agreed. Dugu did get lucky, but I understand the referee and VAR's reasons for not awarding the penalty.
