The news of Kilian McBarbie's transfer to Real has been a bombshell that has set the soccer world abuzz. According to Real Madrid's official media outlet Marca, the superstar, who will don the Galacticos' uniform on July 1, has officially signed a five-year contract with an annual salary of between €15 million and €20 million (HK$126 million to HK$168 million) after tax, and includes generous bonuses.

Marca has followed Real Madrid and McBarbee throughout this transfer negotiation process, reporting not long ago that the two clubs had reached an agreement two weeks ago. Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon recently reconfirmed the happy news, stating bluntly, "The signing of McBarbie with Real Madrid is finalized." French sports media outlet Football Market revealed that Real Madrid will provide McBarbie with the No. 10 jersey that symbolizes the heart of the team, while the current owner of the No. 10 shirt, Modric, will leave the team at the end of the season.

Romano, who has been described as a "transfer expert", also confirmed the news, saying that McBarbie, after receiving a contract offer from Real Madrid, opted to give up his €72 million annual salary at Paris Saint-Germain in order to join Real Madrid, taking a significant pay cut despite the fact that the terms were not as good as the 2022 enquiry.
