This season, Manchester United midfielder Ma N'ou has performed well and once turned heads. Manchester United have planned to extend his contract with a weekly salary of up to £50,000 (about HK$500,000), but according to the British media, Maneo and his managerial team have not shown interest in this new deal and seem to be unsatisfied with United's offer. They prefer to build up their capital through better performances in the coming days so that they can get a more lucrative deal then.

Recall that last February, Maneo signed a professional contract with Manchester United until 2027. At that time, his weekly salary was only £10,000 (about HK$100,000), but with his 10 first-team appearances, his weekly salary was automatically raised to £20,000 per week. As Maneo, a rising star in England, has become a mainstay of the team due to his increasingly outstanding performance, Manchester United is interested in signing another new long term contract with him in order to solidify its squad.

However, Maneo's managerial team believe that a premature contract extension would be detrimental to the player, and are convinced that Maneo has more room for "appreciation". Given that he still has three years left on his contract, they suggest that they can wait and see until the summer before discussing the terms of a new deal. At the moment, there are many players in the United squad earning more than £100,000 a week, while United only offered Maneo £50,000 a week, so it's no wonder he's not interested.

In addition, England national team leader Thuyfki had previously hinted at his intention to call up Maneo for this summer's UEFA Europa League. The latest news shows that Maneo will be selected for the England U21 team for the first time next month, and he will take part in two U21 Europa League qualifying matches. He has previously played for England's U17 to U19 national teams, but has yet to have experience at U21 level.
