Binschmar, a good French striker, landed at the Etihad last summer, only to be dissatisfied with his half-season's service, and then had thoughts of leaving the team. Last month, he was ruthlessly expelled from the squad on the 17th day of his return and was left out of training. Even more surprisingly, he chose to strike and leave the training base in a fit of anger on Monday (5) this week after the coach's strict ban on participating in team training. He was also dropped for the league match against Eltai in the early hours of Thursday morning (8), and with the European winter transfer window closing, Binschmar was forced to stay in faraway Saudi Arabia.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, after failing to complete his transfer in January, Binschmar quickly returned to the team to train in preparation for upcoming matches. However, just when he thought things were about to get back to normal, Etihad coach Marcelo Canaldo suddenly banned him from participating in team training and only allowed him to rehabilitate with injured players. The decision angered Binschmar, who left the training ground and missed his team's 3-0 win over Ayrtek on Thursday.
