Just yesterday (4th), a much-anticipated friendly match between Inter Miami CF and the Hong Kong team unexpectedly made waves. Fans at the stadium, who had been looking forward to catching a glimpse of the King of Balls, booed in the absence of the stars, a scene that quickly drew widespread attention from both local and international media. This evening (5th), Michel Lamunière, Chairman and CEO of Tatler Asia, held an emergency press conference to try and calm the storm. He disclosed that the International Miami team doctor had assessed that Mays and other players were unable to participate in the exhibition match due to injuries, and expressed his understanding of the fans' disappointment and regret, and announced that the sponsorship of the M-brand would be withdrawn, as well as the HK$16 million sponsorship applied for from the Hong Kong government. Michel left in a hurry after reading out the statement briefly, choosing to refrain from responding to the reporters' questions.
