In the Premier League this season, Liverpool are leading the table with a strong attacking firepower. In just three of their last four matches, they have scored four or more goals against their opponents. According to data analyst Statman Dave, Liverpool has created 737 shots on goal this season, leading the top five leagues in Europe, and is the only team with more than 700 shots on goal. However, coach Jurgen Klopp seems intent on shifting the focus to Manchester City in an attempt to create a de-pressurized atmosphere for his team.
In their last Premier League clash with Chelsea, Liverpool had 28 shots on goal, making them one of the highest number of shots on goal against Chelsea since the 2003/04 season. Liverpool's victory would have been even more glorious had it not been for Davin Lewis hitting the post with four shots, and the 4-1 scoreline was enough to see them favored to compete for the Premier League title this season.
While preparing for the match against Arsenal, Klopp said in a press conference that Manchester City is the real king: "What we've learned over the years is that to compete with Manchester City, you have to win all the games. The current situation in the EPL is dominated by Manchester City, who are performing incredibly well and will never be satisfied. Even though City are behind in points, they are still playing well."
