Westham and Gonemouth drew 1-1 in a Premier League clash that began early Friday morning. Of note, midfielder Gavin Filas, previously on loan from Manchester City, had a dramatic debut game. He helped his opponents break through to score in a controversial suicide assist.

Nevertheless, Westham manager David Moyes did not blame Gavin Filas, instead he expressed his belief that he would improve after adapting to the new environment. Gavin Filas was given his first start since joining the club, but he suffered a mishap just three minutes into his debut. After a mistake at the back by Gertsouma, Gavin Filas was in a hurry to return the ball, only to send it directly to Solanki who was in an offside position, as the replay footage also confirmed. Even though Westham's players intercepted the ball in time, the goal was still valid due to Solanki's offside position, and Gavin Filas' mistake turned out to be a perfect assist.

Thankfully, Woteps equalized from the penalty spot in the second half to help Westham retain a valuable point.
