Last September, 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder Filippo Gutiérrez was loaned out by Villa to Qatari side Al Duhaney, but failed to boost the team's morale and even faced repatriation. According to the Daily Mail, the star may return to Villa this month, but it seems that new coach Emery has no intention of keeping him. Gutiérrez's future seems to be hanging in the balance, as he may be moving to the USL, where his contract with Internazionale Maia Migliorati will allow him to reunite with former Barcelona teammate Misi.
During his four-month spell at Aiduhani, Gutiérrez made only six league appearances, scoring two goals, while Aiduhani's league record was not good enough, finishing in 6th place. The team has no intention of continuing to loan the former Inter Milan, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich star. Villa boss Emery has lost faith in him and will continue to look to loan or sell him even if he returns to the team.
