Jordan Henderson, who was once in charge of Liverpool, has recently been rumored to be interested in returning to Europe. Dutch powerhouse Ajax is positive about this, stating that it is willing to extend an olive branch, but the condition is that Jordon must accept a drastic reduction in salary, which is expected to be cut to 20% of the original salary, i.e., equivalent to one-fifth of the income he earns at Saudi Arabia's Ittifaq team.
Jordan Henderson stepped down as Liverpool captain last summer to join Ittifaq in the Saudi Arabian League, where he made 19 appearances, contributed five assists, and at one point earned as much as £350,000 (HK$3.48 million) a week and enjoyed tax-free status. Now, he is eager to return to Europe, a dream that may come at the expense of a hefty salary.
