Good news has come in the form of La Liga giants Real Madrid's goalkeeper Tébert Gauthier, a Belgian international who has been undergoing a six-month convalescence and has recently begun individualized training. He is expected to return to the field in May. Gauthier has made it clear that he will not be competing in this year's Europa League and has hinted at the status quo that the national team no longer seems to need him and has not ruled out the option of ending his international soccer career.

Gauthier was unfortunate enough to suffer a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee in August last year, forcing him to undergo surgery, and he has yet to make an appearance. Reports from TV6 suggest that the 31-year-old has been able to train individually and is one step closer to making a comeback. However, it is expected that he will still have to wait until May before he has a chance to return to action. With two of Real Madrid's replacements, Aleixabanaga and Lulian, performing well, it seems that coach Angelo Anciarotti will not be in a hurry to bring Gauthier back to action.
