Last season's Ligue 1 kings Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) hosted former French FA Cup winners Toulouse in the French Champions Cup at dawn on Thursday. PSG, a financially strong club, successfully defended their title with a 2-0 win thanks to their superb technical superiority. Kilian McBarbee set a new record for PSG's home goalscorer with 111 goals in the match with two solo strikes, while South Korean player Lee Kang-in became the first Asian player to score a goal in the French Champions Cup.

PSG scored with a quick breakaway goal from Lee Kang-in just three minutes into the match. Toulouse then came back with full force, but striker Daninga's shot bounced off the crossbar and failed to convert. Kilian McBarbie's individual performance culminated late in the first half, when he cleverly got past an opposition player and scored to seal the 2-0 win. Since joining PSG, the French striker has amassed 111 goals in home matches, surpassing Kayouni for the most home goals in PSG's history. In the second leg of the match, PSG was expected to increase the score, but Ashurav's penalty kick hit the post and did not go into the net, fortunately, this mistake did not affect the team to win the title.
