The Bonny Boys have made a comeback to the Premier League this season, but the team has yet to reach the expected heights, especially in the attacking end. They have scored only 20 goals in 20 league matches, barely beating Saffron United, who are on the verge of relegation. Head coach Giobertini urgently plans to bring in a striker this month to salvage the situation, and the target has been targeted at the 2 meter 01 tall Nigerian shot-stopper Paulo Anyazu.

Paul Anyazu, 29, moved to Southampton from Belgian side Henkel last winter, but his performances didn't live up to expectations and he failed to score in 11 Premier League matches. With Southampton relegated to the Championship this season, Paul was loaned out to Turkish side Trabzonspor, where he was revitalized, contributing eight goals in 13 league matches.

According to Transfermarkt data, Paul Anyazu, who is valued at €13 million (about HK$112 million), was not selected for the Nigerian national team and therefore is not required to play in the African Cup of Nations. Bonny intends to sign Paul Anyazu on loan first, and if he performs well in the tournament, the team will consider buying out his contract from Southampton.
