In a spirited weekend of Premier League action, Wolverhampton Wanderers put on a spectacular comeback as they beat Ewarton 3-0 at home on Saturday night (30), with 27-year-old South Korean striker Hwang Hee-chan playing a pivotal role, not only contributing an assist, but also being the talk of the town with a total of three goals in his last two matches to help Wolverhampton Wanderers make it a three-game winning streak.
Only 25 minutes into the match, Wolves defender Max Kilwin capitalized on a missed clearance by the opposition and opened the scoring with a clever follow-up shot from in front of the goal. After the goal, he held up teammate Lemina's No. 5 jersey to offer comfort to the player who recently lost his father. Shortly after the resumption of the match, Hwang Hee-chan crossed the ball from the right side of the penalty area and Mathias Gensia scored at the near post to make it 2-0. Hwang Hee-chan was in hot form as he assisted again after scoring two goals against Binh Phuoc in the previous round. Mathias Gencia's long-distance shot was deflected into the net by midfielder Kiki Daichenkado to make it 3-0.
Although Ewarton had a chance to break the deadlock, striker Dewey McNeil's shot hit the post and bounced out, causing the team to suffer their third consecutive loss in the league. With a one-point lead over third-from-bottom Luton and a game in hand, the risk of relegation is looming.
