Arsenal battled Luton to a close 4-3 win, with goalkeeper David Laye's performance almost turning the team over. The Spanish international made a series of errors early in the second half, which led to his team going from being in the lead to being behind. Although the Arsenal struggled to win all three points, many fans were disappointed with David Lahaye, calling him the "Arsenal's Onana" and calling on coach Adidas to reintroduce Lansdal to the starting lineup.

At half-time, Arsenal led 2-1, but only four minutes into the second half, Luton took a corner kick, which David Laye met with hesitation and was headed home by rival striker Ilicha Edibayo. Only eight minutes later, Barkley's shot from a small angle on the left was not a threat, but David Laye was unable to block it effectively, and his team conceded the ball again and was in trouble.

After the game, fans were calling for Adidas to relegate David Laye to the bench and reintroduce Lansdal. In fact, Lansdal was a revelation last season, but Arsenal still borrowed David Laye from Binford this summer to replace Lansdal in the starting XI. It is said that the move is based on his excellent ball control ability, but David Laye's frequent mistakes, including against Chelsea in October when he was struck by a pass from Mediatek, and this game, another low-level error, which makes the "factory fans" can not stand him.
