Newcastle have managed to maintain a decent record despite the shadow of injuries, and the contribution of 22-year-old wing Anthony Gordon cannot be ignored. Last month, the starlet was named the Magpies' Player of the Month for November, contributing two goals and one assist in six games. In a recent Premier League match, Gordon hit the target to help his team beat Manchester United, a dazzling performance. England manager Gareth Southgate is likely to include Gordon in his squad for next summer's UEFA Nations League final week.

Gordon moved to Newcastle from Everton in January this year for a transfer fee of £45 million (about HK$440 million). Despite a lackluster performance last season, which was once questioned as a watering hole, Gordon managed to improve his form through intensive matches and training during the U21 Europa League this summer and scored six goals in 13 Premier League matches.

Gordon has been particularly impressive in the last month, scoring against traditional giants such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, helping Newcastle to beat these tough opponents. As a result, calls for Southgate to call up Gordon are growing.
