In an up and down game, Westham drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace. However, there was a shocking scene behind the draw that went unnoticed. Central player Gertsouma suffered a burglary which resulted in a loss of around £100,000 from his home, and this incident happened the night before the match. To make things even more dramatic, his entire family was at home at the time and the burglary has certainly put a huge psychological shadow on them.

According to the British media, the theft occurred last Saturday (2) night, when Gertsuma and his family were enjoying the happiness, but unfortunately met with thieves. The thieves not only stole cash and jewelry and other valuables, but also let the Getsuma family experienced an unprecedented shock. After the incident, Gertsouma and his family were forced to move out of their home, and he missed Sunday's league match due to personal reasons. Westham's official explanation for the incident seems a bit hard to believe.
