I remember in the past, I was wearing the robe, Manchester United and Chelsea's battle, undoubtedly is a bright landscape in the Premier League. Unfortunately, the strength of both teams has declined in recent seasons, however, this duel is undoubtedly of great importance to the current situation of the two teams.
Manchester United are aiming to pick up all six points from their upcoming matches, which will be crucial for their end-of-season challenge. Not only do they have to face Liverpool and Westham on the road, but they also have to face solid Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest at home, with a UEFA Europa League death match against Bayern Munich sandwiched in between.
Despite facing so many tough games, Manchester United are in deep trouble. We often say that victory in adversity is a blessing, but United's poor performances have gone on for far too long. Take the match against Newcastle as an example, United played extremely poorly in the race for the top four, and the 0:1 loss clearly failed to reflect their true form, which is intolerable for a top team.
Even in the games that United barely won, it's impossible to ignore how poorly they played overall, and a lot of that can be blamed on the performances of key players. Even though I predicted a narrow win for United over a weak team, their star players such as Rashford, Hernandez, Anthony Mathias, Onana, Martial and Eriksen did not live up to expectations, which hit United hard.
If United want to continue their European campaign and push for a top four finish next season, these players will have to make a breakthrough in the next few weeks or they could be in a doom and gloom situation this season.
Similar to Manchester United, Chelsea's performance at St. James' Park was disappointing and once again exposed their inconsistency. However, I have been impressed with Chelsea's performances over the past two months. They have 18 points from six games including Arsenal, Binford, Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle and Brighton, which is a positive turnaround for this team. They would have collected 11 points if they hadn't conceded against Binford. If they can win on Wednesday, I think Pudjetino will be doubly relieved, especially considering they had a scoreless September in the league.
Unlike Manchester United, some of Chelsea's stars have shown positives. We are well aware of the performances of Staanen and Galpenma, but the outstanding performances of the likes of Ansou Fernandes, Niklas Jones and Moses Ska are also worth watching.
The suspension of Ganagaracha is certainly a big blow to Chelsea, but it also gives the team an interesting option. I think Galpenma has been impressive in the midfield, and with the loss of Gunnar Aleksandar, Ansel Ferandis and Moses Scarr may team up in the No.10 position. If United don't have a solid defensive midfielder, I think Golpenma could give them trouble in that position. As a teenager from Manchester City, wouldn't he love to score at Old Trafford? If you know the history between Man Utd and Chelsea, you'll know that the name Gal has scored key goals before ...... (yes, that's right, that's me!)
