With three defeats in a row, Manchester City don't appear to be the most desirable opponents for Spurs to encounter on Sunday.

When it comes to Manchester City, what else can be said but to envision them continuing to soar? Looking back at the midweek Europa League match, despite being down 0:2 at one point, they came back to win the title. Last week's draw with Liverpool wasn't a fair result, but I always had the feeling that City could break the deadlock at any time. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way, thanks in no small part to Liverpool's stubborn resistance. However, I think Sunday's clash with Tottenham will be a completely different story.

Despite City's second consecutive draw in the league and their midweek performance, I'm sure Pep Guardiola will use it to motivate his team and look for them to deliver a stunning win on Sunday, not only to kick-start the intensive December schedule, but also to serve as a wake-up call to their rivals.

Ainin Zaharia has been on a goal scoring roll lately, and against a Spurs side that has only conceded 4 goals in 14 games this season, coupled with the fact that Spurs are expected to once again field a central defensive pairing of Bin Davies and Amazons in this match, I'm sure he's raring to go and ready to build on his successes in the game.

One irony for Tottenham is that they have been the first to break through in each of their last 3 matches, but have never been able to hold on to the lead. I think this reflects the inexperience and lack of ability of their substitutes. In contrast, Manchester City's depth of bench and quality of players allows them to really capitalize on this during the 90 minutes and control the game from start to finish.

The Tottenham Hotspur team led by Puzdiguero has no time to breathe at the moment. In the midst of their recent struggles, unfortunate injury news has come in the form of midfielder Bintangoa, who will be out until the New Year, adding to the Spurs' woes. As we all know, the lack of depth in Spurs' squad is probably a problem they will face sooner or later, but it's bad luck to have a number of key players missing due to injuries one after another in such a short period of time.

While I have a lot of respect for Pusdigolu and have been a big fan of his this season, I would be surprised if he tries to continue his recent high defending and pressing style of play at home to City. I fear that if he sticks to his guns, they may look like lambs to the slaughter and take an even worse beating.
