Fresh from a thrilling encounter with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea broke the deadlock with a hard-fought victory against their arch-rivals. The bizarre game ended with the Blues picking up a much-needed three points.
My former employers have shown amazing potential in recent weeks, and while not routing their opponents, they have almost dominated the game on certain occasions, yet have always come so close to scoring. I'm sure Nicolas Jaesen's hat-trick not only instilled confidence in him, but also gave the team hope.
Much of Chelsea's recent progress has been due to leader Putjetenu, who has finally found stability in his regular lineup. While I think he's still a long way from having the best squad in his mind, the stability of Tiago Schwarz, Levi Govier, Ansel Fernandes, Gianluca Leccia, Moses Scarcitto, Staanen, Golpenberg and Nicolas Jaesen means that he doesn't have to tweak his squad as often as he did before.
I would like to give special mention to the two new English stars, Galpenma and Gunnar Garrincha. Gunnar Garrincha has undoubtedly been one of the best performers this season, breathing new life into the team's midfield with his energy and aggression. The fact that the 23-year-old has become the oldest member of Chelsea's midfield lineup is astonishing. As the centerpiece of the team's pressing game, he often manages to make tackles up front, a trait that could be key against a team like Manchester City.
Galpenma was equally impressive for Chelsea, quickly winning over the fans with his talent and fearlessness. He has rewarded the fans' love with goals, assists and all-round performances. I'm sure he'll prove himself to his old bosses and earn more than a say in this weekend's game.
Last week, Fennymouth put in a confident performance against Manchester City in the opening 30 minutes with the score at 0:0. However, in just 7 minutes, the score became 3:0 and the game went into garbage time early on. Once City got into their stride, they were able to score at crucial moments and take the game away from their opponents. Any of their players can score from anywhere on the pitch and that's what makes them deadly. Chelsea will have to stay focused all over the pitch if they want to get something out of the game.
One of the matchups I'm most looking forward to is between Shelly Medjugorje (if he gets a regular selection) and Lys Champs. After a week off, he contributed 4 assists and a goal in his last game, which will give him more recognition. The addition of Shelly Medjugorje has put a dent in Kialisu's position after last season's World Cup, but his arrival has also cost Lyszczens a spot in the regular squad, so the latter will need to be at his best defensively to keep his place.
Nonetheless, Lyszczenski's attacking ability could be a killer for Chelsea. We know he likes to push forward and has excellent assisting skills. I noticed while watching Shelly Medjugorje live that he often neglects his duty to return to defense, and I'm sure Putrajit Tino and Chelsea will take note of this and exploit this weakness against City.
