Liverpool captain, Dutch star Wahkil Wondjik (VVD) recently revealed for the first time in an interview that he is in deep talks with the club's management over a contract extension, with the outcome expected to be revealed soon.

With Wahkil Wlodzik entering his 33rd year of age, it has been suggested that the club may not choose to extend his contract. Recently, the player himself revealed the progress of the negotiations: "I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue playing for Liverpool next season. What is certain is that the club has already begun to deal with the renewal of the contract. Once there is a clear plan, it will be officially announced. Right now, my main task is to give my all to play for the team, and the issue of my personal contract is only a secondary consideration." Despite his advanced age, VVD remains in good physical and mental shape, which seems to suggest that he still has room to play for Liverpool for several more seasons.

Back in January 2018, Wahkil Yundjak moved from Southampton to Liverpool for a transfer fee of £75 million (approximately HK$750 million), a record Premier League transfer fee at the time. To date, he has played 280 matches for Liverpool, contributing 24 goals and helping the team win the Premier League, UEFA Europa League, EFL Cup, World Champions Club Cup and two Premier League titles.
