On a star-studded Saturday night (21st), the Premier League's main event got underway on Merseyside with a thrilling battle in progress. Liverpool, even though they were outnumbered, managed to break their losing streak with a 2-0 win over city rivals Ewarton on their home turf thanks to a hat-trick from Mohamed Sana.

It is worth noting that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp boldly started Semmikas in the starting lineup due to the long term injury concerns of left back Andrew Robertson. The Reds' goal was always impenetrable despite the threat of the Ewarton side's high bombing tactics in the first period. And Liverpool's youngster Luis Diaz repeatedly posed a threat on the left, tiring out the experienced Ashley Younger. In the 37th minute, A Young shanked Luis Diaz and was sent off for two yellow cards plus a red card. The red card was also the 23rd in the Merseyside Clash since the inception of the Premier League and certainly added to the fireworks in this clash.
