Despite multiple injuries to core players in the International Maia Mi team, including Mays, the team's recent poor record and situation is grim, almost losing the hope of qualifying for the USL playoffs.
This is the first of the second consecutive league matchup between InterMiami and FC Charlotte, as well as their last home game of the season. With this in mind, I am confident that InterMiami will go all out and try to give back to their fans with a great game.
It's worth noting that Mays is finally back from injury, having come on as a substitute in last week's game against FC Cincinnati. As such, I'm guessing there's a chance he could get the start in this game. If so, his teammates are also expected to improve their performance, as the team as a whole does play better with Mays on the pitch.
In Misi's absence, Inter Miami has lost four straight games, including the last two in a row. Charlotte FC, on the other hand, is in good shape, winning its last two games in a row, scoring five goals and conceding none, and is still hopeful of catching the last train to the playoffs.
Schwidarski's performance has been crucial. The FC Charlotte striker has scored four goals in his last three matches and also scored for the Polish national team last weekend. However, his fitness may have suffered this past week as he traveled to Europe for a Europa League outing. If he can stay in top form, he will be a threat for the hosts.
For Charlotte FC midfielders Ashley Westhwaite and Bonny High, this game will be a key matchup. They will need to fight hard against the rival Busquets in the middle of the midfield. In addition, Belgian midfielder Dicha Degani should not be overlooked, as he broke through with a brilliant long-range shot against FC Toronto and is expected to create a threat at the right time.
