Liverpool unfortunately lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the just-concluded Premier League match due to a VAR misjudgement. In addition to the VAR error, a number of penalties in the match caused controversy, including the red card awarded to two Liverpool players. After the match, Liverpool appealed against the red card awarded to Gudis Jons, however, the appeal was rejected by the English FA in their ruling on Tuesday (3), and Gudis Jons is facing a 3-match suspension as a result.

Looking back at the game, Gündis Jons was unfortunate enough to kick Bisuma while shoveling the ball in the first half, which was originally shown as a yellow card by the referee, but the decision was upgraded to a red card after VAR intervened. Liverpool insisted that Gudis Jones was shoveling the ball with all his might and was just unfortunate enough to hit the surface of the ball, resulting in an errant kick on Bissouma. Nonetheless, the English FA rejected the appeal and Gudis Jons must accept a three-match suspension for the red card as per usual.
