In the early hours of Wednesday morning, soccer superstar Cron wrote a new chapter in the AFC Champions League Group E. He made his debut for Saudi giants Ainas and scored a goal to help his team beat Istiqlal 3-1 at home, making his prospects of advancing to the group stage look bright, as he not only scored his first goal in the AFC Champions League, but also continued to extend the all-time record of scoring goals he holds.
Despite dominating the game, Ainas missed a number of scoring chances in the first half, with Cron missing out on goals on three occasions. In the 44th minute of the match, the deadlock was broken by Tajikistan's Istilo. However, the star-studded Ainas team was able to equalize in the 66th minute with a goal from Cron and a second from Talisker to complete the 3-1 comeback.
