In the heat of the summer, Manchester United had agreed a transfer deal with Japanese powerhouse Urawa Red Diamonds with the intention of bringing in mixed-race goalkeeper Suzuki Choyan. However, the young talent refused the call of Manchester United and joined St. Tilden of Belgium instead. Recently, Suzuki revealed the truth of her refusal, which is because United has already signed Onana.

Speaking about her decision, Suzuki revealed: "I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and the offer from Manchester United really made my heart skip a beat. However, United already had Onana, and I realized that it might be difficult for me to get a firm footing at United. In order to get more opportunities to play, I made this difficult decision. Although I can't go straight into the Premier League at the moment, I'll be back there in a few years, so I chose to train in Belgium first in order to steadily improve myself.
