Hosts China's men's Asian football team officially stepped into the round of 16 knockout rounds with a summit clash against Qatar's men's Asian football team in the men's Asian football Wednesday's (27th) thriller.

In Group A, China topped the group with 2 wins and 1 draw, beating India and Myanmar by 5:1 and 4:0 respectively. However, in the last match, they drew 0:0 with Bangladesh, in which the Chinese team carried out a large-scale rotation, with star player Gao Tianyi missing the match due to injury, and Dai Weijun appearing only as a substitute. Before the match, the Chinese team has basically locked up the qualifying place, and the match against Bangladesh is obviously reserved for the preparation of the next round of 16 tournament, so this draw does not fully reflect the strength.

In Group C, the Qatari men's soccer team's performance was a little less impressive, with only 1 win and 1 draw. They lost 1:3 to Japan and drew 0:0 with Palestine. If it weren't for the fact that there are only three teams in the group and teams from other groups have withdrawn, Qatar might not have made it. In their last match against Palestine, Qatar were hampered by their opponents' home defense, with a majority of U22 players breaking through. But in the match against Japan, they scored one goal, more or less proving their strength.
