In Saturday's Premier League match, Manchester City defeated Westham 3-1 on the road, continuing their unbeaten streak and leading the table. The "Blue Moon" could have won the game, but leading scorer Einin Harlandt missed five chances to score. Luckily for the Norwegian international, he was able to score a goal, becoming the first player in Premier League history to score 43 goals in 40 matches. He and teammate Bernardo Schwarz recreated the classic celebration of 25 years ago when Di Canio pushed the referee.
Early on in the game, City created a lot of attacking chances, with Aynin Charant even having a close-range shot hitting the post. In contrast, Westham broke the deadlock with a goal from Woeteps in the 36th minute thanks to an efficient attack. However, just a minute later, City's newest signing Shelly Medjugorje equalized with his first goal for the "Blue Moon".
Zulian Ivaris then played a clever pass to Bernardo Schwarz, who scored to make it 2-1, and with 86 minutes to go, Bernardo Schwarz played another pass to Ainin Chalant, who made it 3-1. Bernardo Schwarz couldn't help but push Chalant as he celebrated, seemingly displeased with Chalant's earlier missed chance. The scene was compared in the British press to the incident 25 years ago when Di Canio pushed Sydney Wednesday referee Aizen, for which Di Canio was suspended for 11 matches and moved to Westham.
