The Athletic magazine recently invited transfer agents to conduct a poll to determine the worst acquisitions of the summer, and the result was that Xaviers and Moses Scarcitto were the unfortunate candidates for the worst acquisitions of the summer. As a result, Xaviers, Moses Scarcitto and Mason Monte were unlucky to be candidates for the worst acquisitions.

Arsenal's £65 million (HK$650 million) signing of Xaviers was voted the worst acquisition with six votes. Some brokers pointed out that the German international's confidence was low and his skills were poor, while Chelsea's Moses Scarsdale, who was brought in for a transfer fee of 115 million pounds (about HK$1.15 billion), came in second place with a narrow margin of five votes. Brokers questioned Chelsea's high price tag, and believed that Cacido would not be able to perform in the team's unstable system. As for Manchester United's midfielder Mason Monty, who received only 3 votes, brokers believed that Manchester United needed to strengthen their squad in other positions, and that purchasing Monty would be a misdirection of capital investment.
