Cameroon's national soccer team came out on top of the Afcon tournament and advanced to the final week, however, United goalkeeper Onana will miss up to nine matches next January due to injury. The team has also attracted attention with the introduction of Moroccan midfielder Souf Enyan Rabat and English wing-back Warmblood Shaka. Especially Yun Bishaka, his native Democratic Republic of Congo's head coach recently publicly called for his return, if this matter comes true, Manchester United will face a serious situation next January without three main players available.
The final week of the Afcon is scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11 next year, during which time United will have an intensive schedule, facing up to nine matches including four Premier League matches, two English FA Cup matches, two English League Cup matches, and one Europa League Round of 16 fixture.
Onana has reached a settlement with Cameroon national team manager Nicolbert Sange and will return to the national team and, barring any surprises, will play in the African Cup of Nations. Sufniyan Rabat, who joined Manchester United before the transfer deadline, was a key player in Morocco's run to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar and is a stalwart of the national team. Both Cameroon and Morocco are favorites to win the tournament, and their absence certainly presents an extra challenge for United in the tournament.
