This summer, Arsenal have been very generous in the reinforcement market, spending more than £200 million to bring in new recruits. As a matter of fact, Arsenal tried to acquire Osweni Di Ovendi with an offer of £30 million back in the summer, but it was politely rejected by Sporting. The unfortunate injury to new Dutch defender Zulian Timba has forced the Adidas boss to reconsider bringing in Osweni Di Ovendi. The Ivory Coast international has exactly £69 million in liquidated damages and Arsenal have not ruled out buying him outright for that price if necessary.
Oswendi Oswendi, who is 1.90 meters tall, joined Sporting from Danish side Midtjyllandt in January this year and has made 21 appearances and scored 1 goal so far. His transfer fee was only 7.5 million euros (about HK$63 million), and his value has more than doubled 10 times in just less than a year.
