In the height of summer, Danish international goalkeeper Kasper Schmidtgall has announced that he has joined Belgian soccer giants Anderlecht, after a stormy release from his contract with Ligue 1 side Nice. The two sides signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Kasper Schmeikel played for Premier League side Lister City from 2011 to 2022, and his name is closely associated with the team's path to the Premier League title in the 2015/16 season, when he helped the Foxes win the title against the odds. Since then, he has also won the 2020/21 FA Cup. However, the 36-year-old goalkeeper did not perform as well as he had hoped when he joined Nice after leaving Leicester City last season. He had to be released from his contract early this summer due to tensions with his teammates and was left unemployed for a while. Luckily, Andretti reached out and took on the experienced goalkeeper.
