Luton, who are making their debut in the Premier League, had to postpone last week's match against Bonny's due to delays in the refurbishment of their home ground at Kenilworth Road. The latest news is that the stadium has been significantly accelerated after continuous overtime work and is expected to be partially open for next midweek's EFL Cup home game against Kenningham, while the September 2 game against Westham will be Luton's debut in the Premier League at home.

Since its construction in 1905, many of the facilities at Kenilworth Road were outdated and had not yet met Premier League regulations. As a result, Luton invested £10 million (about HK$100 million) in redevelopment after promotion to the Premier League, including refurbishment of one side of the stand and the addition of a players' tunnel and media room. The original plan was to complete the works before the start of the Premier League season, but delays in the works led to the last round of the league having to apply for an extension.

According to images posted on the Luton fans' website, brand new blue seats have recently been installed at Kenilworth Road, with the construction of the stairs and walkways nearing completion. Ticket information for the Keynsham game, posted on Luton's official website, includes not only the location of the rebuilt stand, but also other locations where tickets are on sale, which bodes well for Luton's first home game of the season in what promises to be a close contest.
