In a historic Women's World Cup final, the Spanish women's soccer team battled with the English women's soccer team. Neither team had ever won the title before, but the result of the match was surprising. With a crucial goal, Spain narrowly beat England 1-0 and won the Women's World Cup trophy for the first time, while England unfortunately lost the title.

Early on in the game, England's women were on the attack and on 15 minutes, Lauren Hamp's shot hit the crossbar and bounced out. The Spanish women then started to organize a counterattack, and Aibali Dandu's shot was parried, but they were not discouraged. After a fine play, Kadanti sent an assist to Carmona, who met her on the left and shot into the corner of the net from outside the penalty area to give the Spanish women a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, England Women brought on Lauren James in search of a comeback, but Spain Women's goalkeeper Kadagore was outstanding and cleared the danger several times. Kadanti pushed a shot to the dead center of the net at the crucial moment and luckily for England goalkeeper Mary Isles, she parried the shot. However, England Women's Kiera Walsh committed a handball foul in the box towards the end of the match, and VAR replays confirmed that a penalty kick was given to Spain Women's, which Jennifer Boots Mossoux converted with a one-touch goal, and England Women's escaped with another goal.

On 76 minutes, Lauren James fired a powerful shot from the left but it was parried away by Kadagore. In the end, England's women were unable to turn things around and Spain won 1-0. After Germany, Spain became the second team to win the Men's and Women's World Cup.
