Shock revelation! Manchester United's top brass have finalized a parting of ways with central defender Alec Bailly, with the 29-year-old Ivory Coast star set to be allowed to move on as a free agent. However, Alek Bailly's demand for £600,000 (HK$6 million) in "loyalty money" has been rejected by the club and a deal to leave the club is up in the air.

Since moving to United from Villarreal in 2016, Alec Bailly has been plagued by repeated injuries and spent last season on loan at Marseille. United had long planned to sell him and offered a £2 million transfer fee, but no takers. In the end, the club offered to terminate the contract, aiming to save 4 million pounds of annual salary expenditure.

It was revealed that Alec Bailly initially did not object to the termination of his contract, but insisted on "loyalty money". The club, on the other hand, had reservations, which made the termination of the contract uncertain.
