A team called the Jin Yu Bay Area Winged Dragons unveiled their new season roster on Tuesday (15) in the rippling East Asian Super League (EASL) of basketball. Former Hong Kong Orient guard Xu Yuanzheng was among the list of players who will be among the five players joining the team and returning to the home of Siuton alongside familiar faces such as Hui Long'er and Yang He.

The new EASL season will kick off this October and run until March of the coming year. The Bay Area Winged Dragons will be using the Thuyton Field House in Wan Chai as their home court this season, and they will also be participating in the PBA Commissioners Cup in the Philippines.

On Tuesday, the team officially announced the signing of five new players: power forward Ramon Cao, forward Seva Chan from Australian NBL1 team Cockburn Cougars, Chinese guard Adili Kuerban who played for Fujian Sturgeon in the CBA, Wang Yunzhang who played for Beijing University of Chemical Technology in the CUBA, and Hong Kong point guard Xu Yuanzheng. And Hong Kong's leading center, Wai Lung Yee, and Yang He, a Chinese-Canadian hybrid who played for South China, also renewed their contracts to stay with the team.

Xu Yuanzheng, 26, moved to professional team Hong Kong Orient from Kang Ren Fujian last year and helped the team win the ABL title along with his brother Xu Yuan. The marksman has also taken up a prominent position in the Hong Kong team and will represent Hong Kong at the Asian Games tournament in Hangzhou in September.
