In a dramatic settlement that has been described as "the battle of the century" between Kylian McBarbie and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), PSG president Eckart Ricardo has announced that the 24-year-old France international has been cleared to return to training and will take part in the next round of Ligue 1 matches against Toulouse. It is reported that the two sides have agreed after some negotiations that McBarbie has promised not to move on as a free agent, which hints at the possibility of a contract extension, and has therefore been able to thaw the situation.

However, McBarbie, who previously refused to renew his contract and was rumored to be joining Real Madrid as a free agent next summer, was excluded from the club's pre-season training for the Asian tour, and failed to make the roster for the last round of Ligue 1 against Lorien Anthelm, and there was even talk that he could be snowed under for the entire season. However, both sides realize that if the stalemate continues, both sides will be damaged. According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, PSG have reached an agreement with McBarbie, who has promised not to leave the club on a free agent basis in order to avoid losses for the club. Subsequently, president Eckhardt Ricardo revealed that McBarbie will return to the team and continue to play for PSG this season.

Given that McBarbie has less than a year left on his PSG deal, he has promised not to leave on a free, meaning he could either agree to a contract extension or sign a "compensation agreement" that would see any third-party club pay a sum of money before signing the shot-stopper.
