Saudi Arabia's powerhouse Hilal have made a decisive U-turn in their pursuit of Kianli McBarbi and have set their sights on another Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star player, Nima. Hilal have reportedly offered the 31-year-old Brazilian international an astronomical annual salary of 100 million euros (HK$856 million) in a bid to lure him into their ranks. If the deal is finalized, Nima will be ranked second on the Saudi soccer salary list, behind Ainas Crown's huge earnings.

According to "transfer expert" Fabrizio Romano, Giral has made a lucrative contract offer to Nima and the two sides are in an intense negotiation phase. According to another source, Hilal and Nima's representatives have been negotiating for two weeks. Initially, Hilal only offered an 80 million euro per annum deal, but it was politely rejected by Nima. Now, they have raised the annual salary to 100 million euros, which greatly improves the possibility of a successful deal.
