Manchester City, known as the "Triple Crown", finished their summer training in Japan and South Korea, but lost 1-2 to Sporting Madrid in a warm-up match in South Korea on Sunday (30th). This summer, City only brought in one new player, Gao Huasi, with no substantial progress on any of the other reinforcement targets. After the match, the team's goalkeeper Nathan Aki admitted that the team is suffering from the "after-effects of the Triple Crown" and needs to make timely adjustments before the Community Shield match.
Despite being a fan favorite in South Korea, with 23,000 fans showing up for an open pre-match training session, City's performance in the rainy conditions was underwhelming. In the second half, rivals Dibi and Nrek Carrasco scored twice, and it was not until the 85th minute that Rubin Dyas broke the deadlock for City with a header.
