According to RMC French media, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has decisively initiated a buyout mechanism to bring Barcelona winger Oswin Dibili directly into the fold for a whopping 50 million euros (about HK$430 million), a move aimed at filling the void left by the likely departing Kylian Mbappe, with the deal expected to be finalized on or before July 31st.
When Dibili renewed his contract with Barcelona last summer, it included a buyout clause. Any club can take the 26-year-old France international for just €50 million by July 31 this year, and he himself will receive €25 million of that as a buyout fee.
However, if the July 31 deadline is exceeded, the buyout fee will surge to 100 million euros (about $860 million). As a result, PSG is making every effort to try to complete the buyout of Dibili before the deadline in order to cut the outlay in half.
Dibili made 35 appearances for Barcelona last season, contributing a respectable 8 goals and 9 assists, and PSG are convinced that he is the ideal replacement for Mbappe, both technically and positionally.
