Manchester United, in the midst of their preparations in the United States, have received heavy news in the transfer market, as their pursuit of Atalanta striker Herrant has taken a turn for the better, beating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a bidding war, and are expected to finalize the deal before the start of the new Premier League season. United manager Tannhäuser was confident: "The sooner it's done, the better!"
At just 20 years old, Danish striker Herlandt has become the joint prey of Manchester United and PSG. According to The Athletic, PSG had made an offer of £43 million (about HK$430 million) to Atalanta, but Atalanta refused to boost the offer further as they believed that Herlandt had only played one year in Europe's top five leagues. However, Manchester United managed to beat PSG in the bidding war with a verbal offer of £43 million plus a bonus clause of £8 million (about HK$80 million).
