In a moment of great change in the soccer world, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest announced in unison that the transfer of 21-year-old Swedish winger Erlanga has been finalized, and that he has moved from the Red Devils United to Greenwood Forest in a deal worth £15 million (HK$150 million) that has refreshed the transfer market. Aranga will wear Forest's No. 21, marking the end of his nine-year United career.
Since the age of 12, Eranga has been part of Manchester United's youth camp and in 2021 he was able to make the leap to the first team. Over the past three seasons, he has contributed four goals in 55 games. This summer, United put him up for sale and he chose Forest as his new home. Before he left, he left a fond farewell: It's the perfect time for me to take the next step in my career, I'm eager to be out on the pitch every week doing what I love and I'm thankful for everything Manchester United has given me.
Erlanga is the fourth player Nottingham Forest have brought in from Manchester United in the last two years, joining Daniel James, Lengyel, who left the club this summer, and Deon Henderson. Forest are currently in talks with Manchester United over a move for Deon Henderson and are expected to reach an agreement shortly.
