According to the Dutch press, Premier League giants Manchester City's defensive stalwart Niton Aki is close to completing a very tempting contract extension that will see his salary receive a significant boost of up to 60 percent, soaring from an original weekly salary of £90,000 (about HK$900,000) to £150,000 (about HK$1.5 million), leaping to become the second highest earning Dutch player in the Premier League behind Liverpool's Wahlquil Wendicek of Liverpool.
Niton Aki was one of the key members of City's treble-winning side last season, making his debut in the UEFA final and contributing three goals in 41 appearances across all competitions throughout the season. He played as a left center back in Pep Guardiola's tactical system and had his best season under the manager since joining City.
