Liverpool's Brazilian midfield superstar, Fabienne Tevaris, was expected to join Saudi League giants Ittihad, however, an unexpected piece of information has disrupted all plans. It turned out that the 29-year-old Brazilian international's beloved dogs - two French bulldogs - were a stumbling block to his transfer. Saudi law prohibits the entry of these species into the country unless the authorities make a "special arrangement". If the dogs are unable to travel with him, Fabinho may reconsider his move.
Nonetheless, Fabinho had previously agreed a personal contract with the Etihad and did not travel with Liverpool to Germany for a training session, signaling his determination to move. Liverpool also agreed in principle to a £40 million (HK$400 million) transfer fee offered by the Etihad. According to soccer reporter Romano, the top brass of the two teams are in London to push through the final transfer formalities. However, it was at this point that the Saudi media broke the news that the dog owned by Fabinou could not enter the country, leaving the midfield star in a tangle as he had to clear this legal hurdle before deciding whether to finalize the signing.
