Even NBA star Andy "Alphabet" Dugamp couldn't help but exclaim on social media, "Hilaire, sign me, I look like McBarbie." The comment not only led to McBarbee retweeted with a laughing emoji, seemingly agreeing with the humorous association.
Andy Dugamp, the centerpiece of the Milwaukee Bucks, who helped the team win the 2021 NBA championship and was twice named Most Valuable Player, earns a whopping annual salary of nearly $40 million (about $310 million). However, his earnings pale in comparison to the salary Hilal offered for McBarbie. As a result, Dugamp went out of his way to make fun of himself, hoping to use the opportunity to join the rich and powerful Saudi giants. However, his social media postings were also accompanied by laughing emojis, perhaps in jest, but also with a touch of sarcasm, alluding to Hilal's excessive extravagance.
Most hilariously, Du Gamp's comments caught the attention of McBarbie, who retweeted the post on his social media accounts, albeit with a few laughing emojis, in what was seen as his first "response" to the rumors of a takeover by Hilaire. Whether McBarbee was happy to have been offered a lucrative deal, or whether he was mocking Du Gamp, only he knows for sure.
