In the United States of America, a warm-up match was played in the early hours of Sunday morning. Chelsea beat Brighton 4-3, with new signing Nicholas Nicholson making his mark, and highly-regarded wing Mediatek breaking his goal drought with a whopping transfer fee of 88 million pounds, so it seems that new manager Pucitino's physical training has begun to bear fruit.

Verbeek opened the scoring for Brighton just 13 minutes into the game, but Chelsea were quick to return the favor with a goal from Nichancourt to leave the two sides tied at 1-1 at the half. The 25-year-old French international also scored in the last warm-up game.

The game resumed with a bang. A goal each from Medillieu, Gunnar Garrincha and Nicholas Jackson increased the lead to 4-1, and despite two goals from Brighton, the Blues' two-game winning streak remained intact.

Medvedev came on as a substitute but did a great job, scoring from the top of the box. The 22-year-old Ukrainian international, who failed to score in 17 matches for Chelsea last season, has finally opened his account, and it seems that Putrajit Tino has something special in mind for him.

After taking over the coaching reins of Chelsea, Pucitano has been working hard to revitalize the team. According to The Athletic, he believes that one of the main reasons for the team's poor performance last season was their lack of fitness. Therefore, in the pre-season training, he specially strengthened the physical training of the players, including his favorite "Gacon Test" training method. Players are required to complete a 150-meter sprint in 45 seconds, rest for 15 seconds, and then use the same time to run an additional 6.25 meters until no one can complete. This "hellish training" gave the Chelsea players a new look.
